>> My name is Luke Benedict. I'm an attorney and shareholder at Daniel, Coker, Horton & Bell. We're a full service law firm with approximately 60 attorneys. We have offices in Oxford, Jackson, and Gulfport servicing the entire state of Mississippi. Personally, I handle transportation cases. So, 18-wheeler accidents and I also handle civil rights cases involving excessive force, bodily integrity claims, medical malpractice claims. Things of that nature. Basically representing governmental entities including law enforcement agencies, school districts, things like that. I'll have numerous open files at any one given time and depending on the stage of litigation, for instance I might have something that's pre-litigation where I'm out at an accident scene investigating a death. You know, meeting with experts on the scene to, you know, gather, you know, the raw information. Or it could, you know, be further advanced where I'm responding to pleadings or arguing with a motion in court, taking depositions, or even, you know, trying the case. Get up that morning, travel to whatever destination you're at, probably meet with opposing council. Possibly meet with the judge in chambers to resolve whatever can be resolved beforehand and then you would, you know, present your client's position before the court and then either he would rule from the bench or possibly take it under advisement and issue a ruling later.
